NEW MEMBERS
Our next New Member Orientation will be held on Sunday, September 19th at 12:15 in the Sanctuary.  Those attending the Orientation will have the opportunity to be welcomed during services the following Sunday.
Have you attended a New Member Orientation but haven’t had the opportunity to join GUMC?  It is our hope that we have the solution!
September at GUMC has been designated as “catch up members joining month!”
If you are available to join the church on September 12th, 19th, or 26th we would like to officially welcome you during our worship services.  Please call the church office at 703-754-4511 with the service time and date that works for you!

YOUTH & PERSPECTIVE YOUTH GROUP MEMBERS
Here are three times/dates that you need to have on your calendar:
September 12th 12:15 PM - 1:30 PM
Youth Group Organizational Meeting:  All youth and one parent/guardian need to attend either this meeting or Monday evening.  We will go over the fall calendar, NEW requirement for mission trips, and filling out all the forms needed before we can begin the year.  We will also announce the date and location for the High School Mission team.  Lunch is not provided...but you can bring something with you.

September 12th  6:00 - 7:30 PM
New Member Evening:  We will provide pizza for youth who are entering the youth group (parents may drop and go).  This is an evening for the new youth group members to meet one another and to meet some of the leadership.  Come out for food, fellowship and games.

September 13th 7:00 - 8:30 PM
Youth Group Organizational Meeting:  All youth and one parent/guardian need to attend either this meeting or Sunday afternoon.  We will go over the fall calendar, NEW requirement for mission trips, and filling out all the forms needed before we can begin the year.  We will also announce the date and location for the High School Mission team.  Lunch is not provided...but you can bring something with you.

WOULD YOU LIKE AWANA TO CONTINUE?
We are in the process of determining if we will have AWANA again in the fall.  We need to have volunteers committed in order for this to work (2 or 4 times per month).  Please email Belinda Greis This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   if you would consider helping to keep this children’s ministry going.  We are looking for some people to help with organizational tasks (computer work, emails, etc) as well as leading during the AWANA night, so you DON’T need to have kids in the program to be a part of it and make a difference in the lives of our future!
